- A welcome email and temporary login information email will be sent to your email address
- Download the Clearlee app
- Use your email as the username
- Copy the temporary password to the password field
- Log in
- Select a permanent password of at least 8 characters that includes a number and a special character
- Follow the instructions to verify your account with a code sent by text or email
- Follow the instructions including taking your facial recognition photos and adding Supporters to your Support Network to complete your account set up process
Your testing window could be open from 2 to 8 hours depending on your program and if you are with a monitoring partner. The test window for individual subscribers is 8 hours. Test reminders will be sent throughout the testing window. It’s best to test earlier in your window so you have time to contact support with any technical problems you may have. Once a test is started it cannot be stopped or restarted. Exiting a test results in a Fail by Misstep as it disrupts Identity Validation or “Chain of Custody”.
If you need to contest your results, speak with your Monitoring Partner regarding confirmation testing onsite at their facility. Clearlee confirmation testing is in development and will be available in the near future.
If you believe something has gone wrong with your test, always communicate this to your Monitoring Partner and supporters immediately. If there is a connection issue, you should relocate to better WIFI or cellular coverage. In case of weak signal, you may be prompted to upload your test again after you have completed the testing process. Once your test is complete the testCUBE should be thrown away.
Once your test has been reviewed by our Care Team for Misstep and results confirmation, you will be notified of results availability within the Clearlee app. Your test results are typically shared within an hour. If you have not received your results, email support@clearlee.com or call Clearlee Customer Support at 888-242-4120.
Notification of results are sent to the testing Member, Monitoring Partner, and Supporters added to the member’s Support Network. Supporters may be added or removed at any time, however all parties are notified of changes.

A testing Member may add you as a Supporter during their account setup process or by tapping the Support Network button in the Clearlee App. Once added, you’ll receive a welcome email with temporary login information.

- Once you have completed the account setup process, you’ll begin receiving results notifications when your testing Member completes a test.
Testing takes approximately 20 minutes and results notifications are delivered within 60 minutes of test completion via text message.
Enrollment kits ship within 24 hours of ordering and arrive in 2-3 business days. Once the Enrollment kit arrives, your testing person will begin receiving notifications to test.

Clearlee’s remote monitoring utilizes a rapid saliva test, which we provide in our program kits. Our app walks individuals through the saliva collection process, which is recorded by the individual’s smartphone camera so the footage can be reviewed by a human to confirm compliance. We also offer confirmation testing via our onsite lab partners and appointments are easily booked through our app, when and if lab testing is necessary.

We supply tests that are 99% accurate, and our step-by-step testing instructions follow manufacturer collection guidelines exactly.
Saliva testing involves collecting a saliva, rather than urine, sample, which automatically means the tests are less invasive, easier to administer, and more comfortable for individuals. Whereas urine testing can detect drug use for up to several days or even weeks, saliva testing is better for rapid frontline testing, typically detecting drug use within the past 24-48 hours. Over all, saliva testing is best for situations when there is a need for rapid and frequent testing.
To ensure the most accurate results, only the provided Clearlee tests can be used. Our AI monitoring and human reviewers will confirm adherence; attempting to use a different test results in a Fail by Misstep test result.
Our app is compatible with Apple (iOS) and Android smartphones only. Our app does not currently support testing on tablets, iPads, laptops, or desktop computers.
It’s the responsibility of the individual undergoing testing to ensure they have either reliable WiFi or cellular signal during their test.
You bet. We fully randomize when testing times will occur throughout the duration of the testing program.
Nope, any day is subject to a random test notification — weekends, holidays, birthdays. At Clearlee, we believe the best accountability is consistent accountability.
An individual and their Support Network receive results simultaneously. A Support Network consists of at least one Supporter (loved one or family member) and/or a Monitoring Partner (professional, expert), or both. Creating a Support Network should be based on what is best for the individual testing, and we confirm consent to share results prior to each test.
We implement careful human review of each test to ensure compliance, which means the delivery time of test results depends on how long it takes to have it reviewed. Generally, test results are shared with the individual and their Support Network within 60 minutes. However, a longer review time does not indicate an issue with the test. If an individual does not take a test when notified or closes a test before fully completing, a Fail by Decline result is released immediately to all parties. More details are available in app.
No. Supporters only receive test results once the testing is completed. We believe this relieves some of the pressure on both the individual undergoing testing and their Supporters. Monitoring Partners may be notified when a testing notification goes out; however, testing is still completely randomized. Monitoring Partners do have the ability to send a test request in addition to the randomized testing.
A Monitoring Partner is a professional or expert in the field of substance use disorder, like a case manager/interventionist, therapist, sober coach, peer support specialist, or treatment provider. Working with a Monitoring Partner is not required, though it is recommended. If you would like more information, contact us to find out about our partners. Although working with a professional can be very helpful, results can also be sent to loved ones or family members, known as Supporters.
Experts say the standard recommended length of time to monitor drug use is 12 months. However, this is subject to change on a case-by-case basis. The minimum recommended time would be 90 days (3 months) to uncover problematic use patterns or support post-treatment accountability. Physician health programs with the best outcomes for substance use treatment (89% success rate) require their participants to monitor and test for up to five years. If you’re unsure how long to test for, speak to a trusted substance use advisor or contact us for guidance.
The individual will know results upon completion of the rapid test and the Support Network is notified as quickly as results are processed and reviewed. If a positive (Fail by Detection) result occurs, a confirmation test may be performed at your nearest onsite lab. But ultimately, it’s up to the individual and their Support Network to determine their next steps. We highly recommend having a discussion prior to testing about what happens if a positive result occurs. Clearlee provides frameworks for doing so when signing the Wellness Agreement in our app.
A Fail result, whether by Decline, Detection, or Misstep, is an indicator of where someone is within their wellness journey. Supporters should never hesitate to perform a wellness check on an individual if there is cause for concern, because sometimes it can be hard to ask for help.
Subscriptions must be cancelled at least 3 business days before a subscription renewal payment.
We stand behind the Clearlee testing experience. Our mission is to provide the most dignified and dependable drug testing experience possible. For us, it is personal. We are happy to refund the full cost of your program subscription if you are not satisfied and the below criteria are met.
- Email Clearlee customer support at support@clearlee.com to let us know you are unsatisfied with the app and testing experience immediately after taking your first test. If you do not reach out to support before the second test, we cannot issue a refund.
- Once we receive your email, Clearlee support will send you a shipping label to return the remainder of the tests, minus the one used for the first testing experience.
- Once your return is received, a refund will be issued to your account. Refunds may take 5-10 business days to process.
